Selsey Lifeboat Visitor Centre
Discover Selsey’s working Lifeboat Station complete with crew on duty 24/7.
Selsey has operated and crewed a Lifeboat Station for over 155 years! Visitors have access to the Experience Room, (via lift) on the 1st floor, and the viewing gallery where you can get up close to our Shannon Class Lifeboat, Denise and Eric.
A member of their volunteer Visits Team will happily talk to you and answer your questions. Visitors can watch some of our videos about the Station, the Lifeboats and the work of the RNLI and there are various things for the children to help them keep safe in and around water.
There is a shop which sells RNLI merchandise

A definite date for the diary the annual Lifeboat Week running approximately the first week of August. This is fun packed week of activities, a firework display and other experiences in aid of Fundraising for the RNLI, generously supported by many Selsey businesses and Residents.
Launch Day on the final Sunday is especially popular with families, with events going on all day including Stalls, Fun Fair, Raft Race culminating in an exciting demonstration by Selsey Lifeboats, the Coast Guard and visiting Lifeboat crews. Look out for this year’s programme which will be available mid-June in the Lifeboat shop and many shops in the village.
